The alternate spot identified by Steve as the likely candidate is missing from the NASA comparison FITS, but shows up in detail and summary FITS files taken on 9/21/2002. Significantly, it is to the south and east of the 9/15/2002 spot, which is expected from the red light bending phenomena.
- Although it's more difficult to see on the DSS image (you just have to adjust the stretch), on the NEAT image there is an object easily visible just to the left and below of Star 4 in about the same position as the lower object next to star 4 (and the same as the on the DSS) as seen on Jan's red sum image. It seems the spot that is higher up is either a chunk of noise or is something new.
