Subject: List of Commonly available items able to be used for primitive survival Date: When the common person (possably at the last minute) is faced with preparing for “extended primitive survival living”, key questions will arise. What will be needed? Where can one get it? I propose we prepare a list of where to go to get commonly available items that would be usefully in a primitive environment. We take one store or source at a time and list out what items can be purchased for primitive survival. Sometime the item is obvious as to what it will be used for and other times it has one or more not so obvious uses. In the latter case we indicate the uses. We do this for the stores we like or know about. One could visit the store or look through there catalog or flyers. Think of yourself as a scrounger living in a primitive environment as you look through these stores. Be inventive come up with new and unusual uses for common things. We all submit our notes to TT-Forum. We compile the lists by store name (I will do this). Latter we make the list available to the common public. Some stores are not global. Many manufactures sell globally. Each country in the world could have different stores and potently different items. As each of us contribute this information. It acts to give each of us new and exciting ideas of what can be used. At the same time it indicates exactly where to go to find it. It becomes a win-win for all. Bottom line we end up with a list of items that can be purchased locally at or near the last minute that can assist in a primitive survival environment over an extended period of time. This would be extremely useful to all of us and the common person preparing at the last minute. It has been a long time since submitting this type of info. I propose even if you have submitted this type of info in a post in the past, I recommend you repost it again so we can collect it all up in one place. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Scrounging for Primitive Survival Items at Local Stores and On-line #1 Date: ---------------------- Store: Harbor Freight Tools http://www.harborfreight.com/ ----------------------------------- The following has been found usefully when preparing for living in a primitive environment. It is up to you to determine what is considered high or low Tech. I have listed the sales price and/or the list price when it was available. Keep an eye out for when these items go on sale.
